Are Special Tools Required?
Absolutely not, you can install a starlight with tools that most people have laying around the garage. Here's what you'll need: trim removal tool, black marker pen, drill or dremel with 1-1.5mm bit, scissors, hot glue gun, and flush cutters. If you don’t have a drill or dremel, you can use a pin. If you don’t have flush cutters, use can use nail clippers.
How Long Does the Install Take?
A starlight install is not particularly difficult – it can take a while though! Depending on the amount of stars that you’ve selected, it may take over 12 hours to complete from disassembly to powering the unit on. The bigger the kit, the longer your install will take as you’re drilling, threading, and glueing more stars, but the more rewarding your kit will be when it’s done. You should roughly budget 1.5hrs per 100 stars.
Can I Sync The Kit Up With My Other RGB Accessories?
For sure – the BushBash Starlight Kit runs with the ‘My Smart LED’ app. If your other products use this same app, go nuts!
What is the Shooting Star Motor?
The shooting star motor is different to the starlight motor, as the shooting star motor fires sequentially, whereas the starlight motor (when on) is always illuminated. This sequential fire, combined with fibres that are wired in sequence in your headliner gives the illusion of a shooting star. Our shooting star kit uses 240 stars which are split across 12 ‘barrels’ – 20 stars per barrel. It’s your choice on how you distribute these stars, but most installs feature two shooting stars using 120 fibres, or four using 60 fibres. It’s your car though, and you’re always welcome to call our phone to chat with us about how to execute your install.
